Just before Christmas we dropped into Redz Snooker Academy in Redz, Cwmbran, to learn more about the brilliant youth set up and to donate £300 to provide the 30 youngsters with academy t-shirts as they move into 2023.
The Redz Academy Coach, Ric Washer, welcomed us warmly and showed us some of the activities that go on each week in addition to the various awards that are earned as the youngsters hone their skills.

Ric, a WPBSA Coach and the Welsh Snooker National Coach, utilises the WPBSA recognised 'White to Black' coaching blueprint to develop games and practice drills to bring engagement and fun to snooker as the youngsters learn and improve.
Ric has very kindly agreed to become an Ambassador for South Wales Snooker and has also agreed we can utilise his techniques to help create further academies around South Wales in 2023 and beyond.

Update: we recently donated a further £250 to the academy for the 2023/24 season for the players to have more equipment and coaching.
