We are delighted to announce that World number nine and Welsh number one Laura Evans from Glynneath has agreed to become the first Ambassador for South Wales Snooker.

Laura, who practices at the Cue Snooker Club in Aberdare, is incredibly passionate about developing Women's snooker in South Wales and is excited to be working with Steve, Andrew and Mauro to help raise the profile and create opportunities for girls and women’s snooker in South Wales including a first ever South Wales Snooker Women’s event in 2023.

Laura returned to the World Women's Snooker circuit in 2013 following a seven-year break and reached her first ranking final two years later at the Eden Women's Masters.

There she stunned reigning world champion Ng On Yee on her way to the title match, before losing out to namesake Reanne in Cambridge.

She also reached the final of the 10-Red World Championship in 2017, and went on to win the event in 2019.

Laura achieved a career-high ranking of number four during the 2016/17 season and has established her position inside of the world’s top ten in recent seasons. She reached the last 16 of the Women's World Championship in 2022.

Laura first took up snooker when she was 14 and has since made a high break of 139 in practice.

We are delighted to be able to sponsor Laura's entry for her next three major competitions. We look forward to working closely with her to help develop the girls and women's game in South Wales over the coming months and years.
